FREEHOLD — An early morning hearth Friday destroyed a big storage at a Freehold enterprise, Freehold Hearth Chief Jim DiPerna stated.
At about 2:07 a.m., Greene County 911 despatched Freehold Hearth Firm to Smiley’s Tools, at 3493 County Route 67, after receiving quite a few reviews of a hearth at that location.
When the primary firefighters arrived, the storage was fully engulfed in flames, DiPerna stated.
Hearth officers instantly requested mutual-aid help from 5 neighboring hearth firms.
“The constructing was totally concerned after we arrived,” DiPerna stated. “We went to work placing the hearth out and defending the opposite buildings on the property.”
Extra manpower was requested to the scene.
County Route 67 was closed to site visitors whereas crews labored.
