ATHOL — The Athol Cultural Council has set an Oct. 15 deadline for organizations, colleges and people to use for grants that help cultural actions in the neighborhood.
In accordance with Council spokesperson Robin Brzozowski, these grants can help a wide range of inventive initiatives and actions in Athol — together with displays, concert events, festivals, area journeys, short-term artist residencies, or performances in colleges, workshops and lectures.
The Athol Cultural Council is a part of a community of 329 Native Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and cities within the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the biggest grassroots cultural funding community within the nation, supporting 1000’s of community-based initiatives within the arts, sciences and humanities yearly. The state legislature supplies an annual appropriation to the Mass Cultural Council, a state company, which then allocates funds to every group.
This 12 months, the Athol Cultural Council will distribute about $13,500 in grants.
